Halloween Crafting Craze!

I can't stop myself from cutting black and orange vinyl and spray painting plastic containers. Good thing Halloween is almost here because I really need to clean my house! Some friends and I made these cute Spooky blocks. They were pretty easy, but it lead me to buy Sure Cuts A Lot for my cricut/computer. It took me almost 2 days to get it all figured out. I do love it and can NOT stop cutting vinyl.
Then, I had a crazy idea to BOO our friends with something different than cookies. Over the summer I collected left over plastic containers from Costco they were just throwing away. I did haul them home and have stored them in Logan's closet. I have been waiting for something to use them on. So, I broke out the primer and the cheap black spray paint and headed to my garage. I have about 20 left now! We filled them with candy, spiders, and glow sticks. We ended up making cookies too.

Since we can't carve pumpkin here, I decided to decorate them with more vinyl. They turned out ok. It was harder than I thought. The vinyl didn't go on too smoothly, but you can't really tell.
I bought a new Halloween cricut cartridge with all these cute images. The owl is my favorite!

Even got carried away with my front door!
I made these cute countdown blocks too.
I found these orange buckets on clearance at Michaels when they were getting rid of all their bright summer stuff. I need to remember to snag up the orange summer things and save them for Halloween.
On to our luminaries...the kids loved painting the inside of these jars. They are cute all lit up at night.
I saved my big pickle jar just for the owl

I had to put a picture of my cute Halloween owls. I talked my sister into making me a bunch of owls. She sewed them and I stuffed them. I think she did 32 for me. I have given them to a few lucky people.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Over General Conference weekend we made all sorts of our fall favorites. I think these pancakes are at the top of my fall baking list. They are really yummy. I need to make them more. The kids inhaled them.

Pumpkin Pancake Recipe
1 1/4 cup flour
3 TB sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 pumpkin pie spice
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/3 cup milk
3/4 cup pumpkin
4 eggs, separated and whites beaten till fluffed, but not too stiff.
1/4 cup melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine dry ingredients. In different bowl combine milk, pumpkin, egg yokes, melted butter, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix together gently. Fold in egg whites. Cook as you would cook pancakes. These take a couple minutes longer to cook and are very moist. I added more spices to mine...I'm a spicy person!

Cinnamon Syrup Recipe
1 cup sugar
1/8tsp. salt
2 T flour
1/2 -1 tsp. cinnamon (I use closer to 1 tsp. of the Costco cinnamon, it's my favorite!)
2/3 cup water
2 TB butter

In small saucepan mix sugar, salt, flour, and cinnamon. Add water and boil till thick. Take off burner and add in butter. This is a must with the pumpkin pancakes. I would add a dollop of whip cream too!

Halloween Soap

I altered some cheap hand soap bottles and made them into cute Halloween ones. All you need is a little spray paint and some vinyl. Take all the stickiness off of the bottle and spray with a coat of well shaken and tested primer. I messed up a couple of bottles because the primer. Test it and make sure it looks like glossy spray paint. Then spray paint without the pump on the soap. Cut out vinyl or you could use stamps with some paint, but the vinyl is much cuter.

Another Disney Trip

We went to Disneyland for a quick trip of craziness and fun. We met my parents and my sister and her kids there. We were so excited to get away for a few days. It's been a rough couple of months! The girls hanging out with Papa, waiting for the park to open. I love that my Dad is into the spirit of Disney with his pins on!
We got to see Ariel hangin by the Castle. I told me girls that they are NOT too old to like princesses!

The girls wanted to run to Space Mountain, but it was temporarily closed, of course, so we went to the Matterhorn which is Jillian's favorite ride.

Love Jillian's face here!

Logan was stealing all of Papa's ice cream.

I think Jillian dreams in pink clouds of cotton candy!
This is one of my all time favorite Disney pictures. This is so cute with Alice by the tea cups!
Wouldn't be Disney without the yummy corn dogs.
The cousins just hanging out for a minute.
Crazy Splash Mountain faces!
So, not to show my big face, but little Ryan's face peaking behind Ella is the best!
We love all of the Fall decor.
Mallory and Ella had so much fun being together.
We found this cute vinylmation window.

Logan LOVED driving the cars. It is actually quite dangerous trying to take pictures and drive these jerky cars and hang onto Logan.
We had fun over in toon town. It was totally dead and I took Logan on the little roller coaster back there. He clapped when it was done and said more! It was so funny!
We got totally soaked on the Grizzly ride!

I really don't fashion light green shirts, just staying in the theme of things!

Logan loved seeing Mickey.

Logan did a lot of this merry go round while the big kids went on California screaming.

We had to get our fill of vinylmations. We all got toy story ones. Logan was happy that I got Buzz!

Cool Cousins!
