Jillian's 8th Birthday

Jillian's birthday fell on a Sunday this year. She was mad since she wanted Panda Express for her birthday dinner. We went Saturday though! Sunday's are quite opposite from the day of rest that it is coined to be. I get up, get all the kids ready by myself as they fight and Hallie screams, looking for lost shoes, socks, and hair things. Then we get to church all mad an angry from the mornings shenanigans and fidget with Hallie for 3 hours, dressed up and wearing uncomfortable heals! Then we usually have meetings after church and get home late, just in time to fix dinner for people that are coming over.

We tried to make it a special day for her. Elfie brought her doughnut holes for breakfast...thank you Elfie...one last thing I had to worry about in the morning. She thought it was so funny that he had eaten some.

I let her open 1 present before church, in hopes that it would help her sit though sacrament meeting a little better. She loves to mix things up at church!
I tried to take a few pictures during church...where there is a piece of green. I need a new camera so desperately! I think I am the only person who doesn't have a nice camera, and would probably take better pictures than most people who have one!
I made an ice cream cake (recipe here). It was good. It is cake layered with ice cream in between then a yummy ganache topping. It just slide as I had it in a precarious place in my freezer!
 She loved it though!
We had the missionaries over for dinner. We made all the cafe rio food, which was super delicious. We had to hurry her through her presents to get them to bed.
Aunt Amanda gave her this brave nightgown that we bought at the Disney store at 2:30 am!!! (black Friday craziness) It is her favorite!
 Cute kids!
I found some roller shoes for her...I think she was excited, but it was hard to tell!!
Gramma got her the Merida Barbie doll, the Mother to Merida doll, and the cute little bear. She wanted the dollies for so long!!

And some cute Hallie, who loves to play with plasticware!
 A hunger games book.
And my Nana always gets her fashionable boots!
And more from messy Hallie. She loves the cake!
Since We had had such a crazy fall, and were headed into a crazier December, we postponed her party until January (which now I am rethinking...I'm tired of parties)!

Mallory's RED Party!

Mallory wanted a Taylor Swift party for her 12th birthday! So naturally we made it a RED party! She invited friends from church, school, and ballet. We had 11 girls!
Mallory with Lydia. She gave her this cute purse.
And we are in the age of silly string apparently.  Mallory thought it was so much fun!
I assume we are praying for Taylor Swift concert tickets here!
Most of the girls being silly!
We danced, played TS trivia, TS guess that song, and we made jewelry. The girls loved it!!
We put together some cute party favors...red cardboard purse is from the HL! We filled them with red food and candy, and red lip gloss and nail polish!

Hallie loved all of the excitement, and food!
We made lots of red decorations, and red food (without an oven, mine was broken...I had to bake the cupcakes at my friends!)
 oreo truffles
 pretzels
marshmallow sticks, which the girls surprisingly loved.
and of course a huge thing of puppy chow!
Mallory and I had a blast working on this together! She was a great helper! It was so differenet doing a big girl birthday party. I am used to doing parties for little kids. I guess this is what I have to look forward to...oh joy!

Garbage Truck Birthday Party

Logan had his little heart set on having a garbage truck birthday party for his birthday this year. I loved the idea and immediately  started thinking of things to do! I stenciled these cute shirts for the invitations! Logan loved them!!

We played some garbage games. We saved our soda cans and used "garbage grabbers" for a relay race. It was fun!

We have a perfect backyard for "garbage games."

I found these cute tins at Target (in Vegas), and vinyled their names! The kids loved them!

Then we played another garbage game. We got a bunch of paper shreddings, put them in buckets and added tons of candy to it. The kids had to dig through it all for the candy. It made a huge mess, but was way fun!

Yep...HUGE mess, but I have a Dyson!!!

Garbage Truck Cake! Love how it turned out! Logan looked at it all afternoon.

The boys were so hyper, I couldn't get them to sit still long enough for a good picture.

Then we raced our garbage trucks ( I ordered little trucks for all the boys)

Then we had hot dogs and cake!

I love Logan's HUGE happy smile!

I was so worn out after this party, but loved having it! I love parties!!
